A traditional Middle-Eastern food packed with flavour & colour, Falafel is made almost entirely of chickpeas, packing a nice little punch of protein in each bag! Organic chickpeas and spices meet locally-grown herbs in this unique and refreshing lunch or dinner meal. Try it with our hummus!
Serves: *2 people; 105 g
Ingredients: Chickpeas, parsley, cilantro, onion, green chiles, garlic, chickpea flour, spices, baking soda, salt, pepper
Need: Pan for frying, water for hydrating, heat source. Touch of oil for cooking (if no cast iron or non-stick)
Directions: Bring ___ C water to a boil. Mix into pouch with contents, or in a bowl (latter recommended for best results), mixing well. Let sit 5 minutes. Heat a pan or skillet to medium heat, shape the falafel into small disks (disks work better when pan searing or frying), slightly larger than a Toonie. Fry falafel on one side, and then the other, until golden brown and cooked through - about 5-7 minutes.
