Peach Whisky Baked Beans
Not your mom’s baked beans – these spicy bad boys are slow-cooked in our own homemade peach whisky BBQ sauce. Perfect with hash browns and toast, eaten for lunch as-is, or even with a side of fresh fish or fish cakes. Diverse & nutritious.
Serves: *2 people; 220 g
Ingredients: Organic navy beans, peach whisky BBQ sauce (apple cider vinegar, Canadian Whisky, maple syrup, molasses, spices, salt, pepper, chipotle powder, brown sugar), vegetable stock, apple/peach juice, yellow onion, garlic, tomato paste, salt, pepper
Needs: water, heat source, pot.
Directions: Pour contents of pouch into pot, and add enough water to cover the beans by about 1.5 inches. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, stir, and cover with lid. Let simmer, approximately 10-15 minutes, until beans are tender. Stir frequently as it thickens, and add more water if necessary 1/4 C at a time (if it has thickened, but the beans have a crunch it needs more water!).
