HOME compostable, eco-friendly packaging

Our guiding belief is that the earth comes first. Though we as humans have cultivated a quick-consuming, single-use world, we believe that there are so many ways to get back to a more sustainable way of living, without fully abandoning our modern-day creature comforts.

By nature, the food industry produces a lot of waste. Whether in the form of food scraps, expired product, or excessive garbage and plastic packaging. This is why we strive to forge an ever-evolving path toward dehydrated meals that come in biodegradable and compostable packaging, and earth-friendly processes and procedures used to create these foods. We LOVE food, and we know you do too, but we want to find a way to enjoy it without sacrificing our planet!

After months of searching and sampling, we were able to find packaging that makes us comfortable selling easy-access foods. Our options are lightweight and portioned in at least 2 servings, with instructions on how to prepare them. Our packaging and labels are home compostable, and are made without any PLA, BPA, GMO or animal products. They are free of any fluorinated chemicals such as PFAS (a common chemical used in food packaging – the same chemical that makes your rain jacket “waterproof”). All labels and packaging are printed with vegetable-based inks, and manufactured using wind/turbine energy. When you are done eating, reuse the package as a sealable compost bag on trail!

We aim for low-impact packaging, and sell in 2 portions or more to reduce the number of packages that spread into the community, and inevitably our cherished natural environments. We consider ourselves stewards of the natural environment, and after seeing all of the harm done in both the culinary world and the outdoor adventure world, we strive to progress towards a better future for our environment all while we enjoy good food.

alternative packaging: jars

Another packaging option we carry is mason jars - we decided to establish a refill program that allows customers to save the deposit amount on their jars, and just swap for a new one whenever they return for a top-up. This allows for a zero-waste/reusable option for those that aren’t as concerned about pack weight (paddling trip, car camping, trailers, etc.), and would like an option that is more eco-friendly.
